Hi Scott!

Thanks for the info regarding Vicki! I didn't get to talk to her for very long and only got bits and pieces of her experiences, so Ill be sure to include this new, more detailed info on the FRN article as well :)

As for the Tail Of The Dragon advertising, Ive amended what I originally wrote in this post. My previous statement may have come across a little ill-hearted and thats not how I intended it. I certainly understand the technical restrictions on the use of the Dragon, however, I suppose my hope of "racing" on the Dragon got the best of me. When I saw Tail Of The Dragon and Hill Climb race in the same paragraph, my brain immediately associated the two. So in in hindsight, its not the organizers fault by any means. It was just wishful thinking on my part. :)

Chris,
Just one or two things I wanted to address regarding your blog. Vicki is well-established as a hillclimber. If I racall correctly, she got between 15 & 20 runs last year at Eagles Nest alone, many of them in the rain. She has been hillclimbing for a number of years now, as has her husband, Steve. Also, Steve is the Regional Executive for the region that put on this event, as well as being a crew member on the #69 Speedsource Rx8.
In regard to your comment about our leading folks to believe that it was going to be run ON the tail of the dragon, I'm sorry you got that impression. "Tail of the Dragon" is copyrighted and we would have had to pay big money to use the title. We would've LOVED to use a section of the TotD, but it was/is a logistical impossibility. We wanted people to know that we were NEAR the tail, but we actvely avoided saying that it was ON the tail. The official announcement says "2.2 miles long course near the famous Tail of the Dragon TM with over 1000 feet of elevation". (http://www.ccrscca.com/2011/04/28/the-tail-of-the-dragon-hillclimb/) When things first fell into place, we wanted to call it the Tail of the Dragon Hillclimb, but quickly came to learn that trademarks and potential misunderstandings as to its location would preclude this. Sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused.
Sincerely,
Scott Franklin

I love the #43 Richard Petty pictures. Your hair is also looking somewhat better. Glad to see you had a great birthday! I also think I need to patent the birthday count system. Love you, MOM
