She’ll be back in a few weeks.

After 3 months of neglect, the Corolla will finally have some work done to it. But not by me. LOL. She’ll be back in a few weeks. That’s all the info you get for now.

Elite Drift Challenge ‘08 Recap

Posted 15 Aug 2008 in Drift Events, Drift411

Boy am I glad that’s over.

This was our, Drift411, first and only event of the year.  I had forgotten how much work is involved with organizing these things. But also realized I don’t miss it in the least. However, it was still fun. The weather was much better than last year’s inferno and there was some insane tandem battles during the Top 8. Most notably would be the Andy/Marty battle which was ultimately given to Andy.  All in all… it went smoothly. I’d like to thank EVERYONE who came out. More specifically, all the drivers, Marty for helping with Tech, David Adams for covering the Mic duties during the award ceremony, Dan and Anthony (aka LIghtning) for the tireless efforts with cone chasing, and certainly all the spectators. But the biggest thank you goes out to Holly of Elite. In all seriousness, this event wouldn’t have gone down if it wasn’t for her and her partner in crime; Steven. Thank you guys!!!! BTW… we still owe each other drinks. :)

So here are some pictures, but feel free to check out Amanda’s post. She goes into more detail about the event itself.

AM drivers meeting

Throughout the weekend, we ended up eating dinner at Fat’s twice. It was within walking distance so convenience superseded desire.

Oh… so you decide to wake up for food?! I see how it is.

Chad bought us a round of Alambama Slammers. Delicious.

The next event is a private day hosted by Southeast Drift next saturday (Aug 23rd) which will be held at Turner Field.  I’d really like to attend, but may not. Amanda and I can get a great deal on Bristol Tickets that same weekend. So if can gather up enough extra money, we’ll be heading to Bristol. Other wise… we will be Turner Field bound.
