Ken Block’s Gymkhana THREE drops tomorrow. There doesn’t seem to be as much hype around this one. Not sure if thats a good thing or not. I hope he has better luck with the video than he did in WRC Rally Germany this past weekend. Poor guy was up to 9th overall when an alternator belt popped while driving to the first stage of day 3.

It hasn’t been clarified as to where it’ll be posted so keep an eye out for it. I can only assume it’ll be posted on the DC Shoes Youtube channel. In the meantime, here’s some teaser pics.

Cody is looking to sell or trade his S13 hatch and move on to a new project. I’d really like to trade for a 1J/2J swapped SC300 with a manual transmission, although I may be interested in other RWD cars as well (350Z, GS300, etc). 

Car starts up every time with no issues and runs extremely smooth. Exterior is in very good shape, although it does have a few dings which are to be expected for a car of this age (slight cracking around the fenders from rolling/wheel fitment too, but nothing too bad). No AC but heat does work (although it makes a clicking sound when the fan is turned on, still works fine though). Interior is in good shape for a 20+ year old car, dash is clean/has no cracks, only flaws are hole in the drivers side carpet (covered by floormat) and cracks in the rear seat plastics from cutting to fit around cage. Full interior (including rear seats) is in place. Power windows/locks still work fine. Car has no sunroof. 

He’s asking $10k obo or as mentioned, a trade for a swapped SC (or maybe something else)

The shocks in the Corolla have been fighting a losing battle every since I bought the car. They finally gave out at the Elite Summer Nationals event. Additionally, the OEM diff decided to go out as well. It was all around bad weekend for the car but we still had a good time. At one point while out to eat, Blevins had us laughing so much that our food almost went cold before anyone had even taken a bite. Good times.

Of all the nice front-lip options out there for the AE86 (and other platforms), there is ONE that I hate with an absolute passion; the “Home Depot” lip. Sure its cheap, but no matter what its installed on, it looks terrible.

Last year as I was vinyl wrapping the Corolla I went with the ‘home depot’ lip option and here was the result:

UGH….. horrible. Within 10 minutes of installing it, I ripped it off and began my search for another (cheap) option. Back to Home Depot I went and this is what I found.

Look familiar? Probably not. Its the inner lining for a door frame and it too is at Home Depot for a mere $5. They are on the same isle as the doors (or close by) and usually in a very tall bin. Unlike the Garden-frame (or whatever its called) variation, this liner is flexible yet VERY sturdy. This is actually my second lip of this type. The first one lasted well over a year and went through a lot of abuse; ie course cones and being smashed while loading the car on a trailer.

The process of putting this lip on is very simple as well. All you need is a Dremel (or cutting utensil of some sort), drill/screwdriver, and a few screws.

Using your Dremel, cut the tabs off one side of the lip.

Make sure the tab-less side is facing up and fasten the lip to the bottom or your bumper using a few screws. On my previous lip, I also used Double-Sided 3M tape which helped out a good bit too.

Its obviously not required, but I rounded off the edges at the bottom.

Its not a JDM Kouki lip, but it’ll do for now.
