Atlanta has the best fans on the FD Circuit. Period!
Of course Im a little bias. Every year we step up our fan-game and this year was no exception. With 4 foot tall drawings and illustrated thumbs-up signs that lit up at night, there is not another stop on the Formula D circuit that hang with us. Period. This year was slightly different for me in the fact that I didn’t have to ‘work’ the event. Typically, Im doing media or running a booth throughout FD weekend. Although,my media responsibilities this year lay with MotorMavens, all I had to do was simply watermark, and upload Twitter pics through the weekend. Since I do that anyway, it was a breeze and I was able to actually enjoy the event itself and the company of good friends. Here’s a few pics from the weekend. The whole gallery is at the bottom. Formula Drift drivers on Twitter #followfriday #formulad

Since I write about Twitter last year, Im please to say that many more automotive people are jumping on board. And to my surprise, there are quite a few Formula D drivers with accounts. There’s a few that aren’t utilizing the service (looking at your Dmac) but perhaps that’ll change. Regardless, Ive put together a small list of Formula D drivers with Twitter accounts. Be sure to follow them during this weekend’s Round 3 at Wallspeedway in Jersey.

Formula Drift
These are the guys that make it happen.

Jarod DeAnda aka “JRod”
The voice of Formula D. If you have ever attended a FD event, then you’ve heard this guy on the mic.

Joon Maeng
Driver of the infamous green S13.5 and by far one of the nicest guys you’ll ever meet. And one hell of a driver. He’s coming off a 4th place finish at FD Round 2: Atlanta. You can check out his website as well: http://www.joonmaeng.com/. He updates several times a week.

Tommy suell
Pilots the Allegiant AE86. Those that already know his profession will see the humor; or lack there of. Tommy has been quite the blogger as well. http://tommysuell.com/

Somewhat of a new face to Formula D, but certainly not the scene. Matt has a licenses with in every North American drift series. He also owns a performance shop Import Intelligence in West Chester, PA.

Time to catch up – Friday night of FD Atl weekend

Ive been insanely busy the last couple of weeks. Freelance work has nearly tripled which has left me very little time to keep this site updated. So inlight of that, Im going to streamline some stuff in order to catch up.

First up, the friday night before Formula D Atlanta. A few of us met up and went to a local restuaurant where we got absolutely hammered on Sake. All I remember is us throwing cuzzies at each other while walking back to Chad’s house.

Corolla is running and ready to destroy

I haven’t updated this thing in a minute. Sorry about that. Been pretty busy pulling in freelance work and applying for jobs which is for another post. But real quick, I got the Corolla running and she’s pretty much ready for battle in Atlanta this weekend. Still got some loose ends to take care of but nothing major. One of the things I really wanted to do was add a Studio Rhoad sticker to the car. After all, the more work I get through SR, the better the car will become (see ‘extra money’). So I orded a big rollcall of companies either owned by me and/or friends from VoodooGarage. I decided to just use the Studio Rhoad sticker as a windshield banner for now. I’ll add the rest later. Oh and I had to take the Centerline’s off for now. The tires GTE hooked me up with are slightly too big and rub the fenders. Yes, I could roll/pull the fenders to prevent that, but I don’t want to run 185/65/15′s anyway, so I’ll wait till I get a decent size tire before rolling/pulling the fenders.

Right… short post. Thats all for now. If I don’t post tomorrow, be sure to follow me via Twitter from the Formula D event on Saturday and Triple Threat all day Sunday.

Support Taka Aono to compete Formula D East Coast!!

Driver Taka Aono…He did great as 5th place @ the Formula D RD 1 @ Long Beach. Now, he really wants to compete @ the Formula D Atlanta & New Jersey…

However, he became a privateer…and sadly, he won’t have enough fund to get there in this point.

If anyone is interested in supporting Taka, please make some donation/chip-in/gas card/etc.
