These events just keep getting better and better. Im being an addict all over again.
The down side to it, I still suck at taking pics along the way. I took one pic of the Gran Turismo East shop when I was having them put some new rubber on the Ceterlines. But….. Im too lazy to pull the off the camera. Speaking of which, I’d like to send a HUGE thanks to Keiren and the crew at GTE. The tires and balance they put on the car made it feel like a completely different car. I actually enjoyed the 3 hour compute home after the event. Additionally, I have to send a heart filled thank you to Chad. he spent the better part of two days helping me remount and patch the exhaust so that it wouldn’t fall off again. In return for his effort, Im going to be updating his website with pics from his Datson 620 build, so keep an eye out for that.

Moving on… here’s a few pics of the 86 in all its glory. It drove really really well all day. The 15″ NITTO up front made a big difference on initiation. But I’d have to say the highlight of my day was when Keiren put a GTE client in my passenger seat. Turns out this client was the European Formula Ford Champion AND Formula Ford rookie of the year from a few years ago. He also raced LMP’s as well as NASCAR. It was very first experience in a drift car in which he was quite impressed with. When he found out that the 86 was only rawking 98whp, it blew his mind. LOL. That’s right, bitches… under estimate the 86! I dare you

Quick recap of Triple Threat 2 RD1

Following FD Atlanta, Southeast Drift held their first of three Triple Threat events in Atlanta. And with a lot of the FD drivers still in town, you can imagine how insane it got. Ive seen so many people at a Turner Field event. All in all it was a blast although I really didn’t get the car dialed in until my very last run of the day. That and the damn exahust fell of twice during the event. I have a whole ‘nother post coming on that though.

Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to make it to Nashville for the “Welcome Back” event, but dM/Team Rowdy definitely held it down in my absence.

Nashville event is a no-go.

Deja vu. It seems that attending a drift event is forbidden for me. Similar to the last event, I won’t be able to make this weekend’s Nashville event Im pretty damn bummed about it but its for the best. Over the past few weeks, a LOT of obscicles have surficed that have made it difficult for me to get everything in order for this event. The car still isn’t running due to a little procrastination on my part and the delay of the new starter (which apparently arrived today). Now I could probably get the car running in time or worse case scenerio, put it on the trailer and get it running once we arrived in TN. But the main issue is the truck I was going to use to pull the car. It has a lot of miles on it and, frankly, probably won’t make it through the mountains without breaking down. If that happens, we’re really up the creek. So rather than battling all these obsticles and taking unneeded risks for a mear 20 passes at a practice event in a parking lot, Ive decided to hold off and use this time to prepare properly for next months event in Atlanta. Yea, it sucks that at that point it will be 5 months since I’ve driven, but oh well. I know I’ll be ready when it gets here. Plus the Atlanta event is the same weekend as Formula D which is always a good time.

As for this weekend, it looks like I’ll be driving over to Atlanta in hopes of catching the Fast & Furious 4 movie release with the dMs. So it’ll be enjoyable weekend regardless.

And as promised, here’s the video from this past weekend’s SEDC event. Keep in mind, this was a two day event, so this is just a fraction of a larger picture.

I haven’t slid since dmggmasd which was November of last year!!! WTH is up with that!!?
Thankfully the boys at Southeast Drift put together this little diddy of an event which is set to destroy faces next weekend (March 7-8th). This just isn’t ‘ol event though. This will a Team Tandem event! What is this Team Tandem jive you speak of, you ask?…..

Hopefully the 86 is up for it. Second gear hasn’t been very happy with me lately. Time to pick up some tires and set fires.
