Since I write about Twitter last year, Im please to say that many more automotive people are jumping on board. And to my surprise, there are quite a few Formula D drivers with accounts. There’s a few that aren’t utilizing the service (looking at your Dmac) but perhaps that’ll change. Regardless, Ive put together a small list of Formula D drivers with Twitter accounts. Be sure to follow them during this weekend’s Round 3 at Wallspeedway in Jersey.

Jarod DeAnda aka “JRod”
The voice of Formula D. If you have ever attended a FD event, then you’ve heard this guy on the mic.

Joon Maeng
Driver of the infamous green S13.5 and by far one of the nicest guys you’ll ever meet. And one hell of a driver. He’s coming off a 4th place finish at FD Round 2: Atlanta. You can check out his website as well: http://www.joonmaeng.com/. He updates several times a week.

Tommy suell
Pilots the Allegiant AE86. Those that already know his profession will see the humor; or lack there of. Tommy has been quite the blogger as well. http://tommysuell.com/

Originally for Ireland, Dmac is campaigning the Saturn Sky in FD this year. To my chagrin, he’s slacking on his Twitter responsibilities and has yet to post an update.

Somewhat of a new face to Formula D, but certainly not the scene. Matt has a licenses with in every North American drift series. He also owns a performance shop Import Intelligence in West Chester, PA.

Yep. Amanda and I headed back to Bristol for the Foodcity 500 race next weekend. Tickets for this race are quite difficult to come by so we consider ourselves very fortunate to have obtained FREE tickets to it. Im not going to name who is giving them to us, but I will say that we are Twitter fans   So in essence, using Twitter got us free tickets. That and he’s a kick-ass guy.  So huget thanks to him… again. If all goes well, we will get media passes. But thats a difficult task so Im not getting my hopes up. Either way, Im pretty excited about it despite not being a big NASCAR fan.

On another note:
Ive determined that it woud be absolutely rad if I got a design job at a large race track like Bristol. My two passions, design and racing, all under the same roof. Wouldn’t get much better than that. The only downside would be the location. Bristol is just too far away from Lily and the rest of my family. Its certainly food for thought though.

Most people in the automotive world haven’t heard of Twitter. But those who have discovered it realize just how useful it can be. If you are one of the unfortunate souls that hasn’t, then I suggest carrying your happy little ass over to Twitter.com and get a free account. And when you do, go “follow” these 24 25 automotive based people who are worth following. Who knows, you might learn something from them. But if nothing else, you’ll be able to stay up to date with the industry faster than ever before. Oh…. and download a free desktop client. It makes tweeting much easier; trust me.  Ok, onward to the cool car-tweeting people……..
